Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | 12-Bed Freestanding ED | Portland, TX (Corpus Christi Area) | 12-Hour Shifts

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (ASAP)
Length: Ongoing
Coverage: Freestanding emergency department
Schedule: 6a-6p or 6p-6a; must be flexible for days, nights, weekends, and holidays (nights-only providers excepted)
Call: None
Volume: About 60 patients per day
Practice Setting: Freestanding Emergency Department, 12 beds
Patient Population: Mixed, skewing younger
Support: 11 hours of APP coverage daily
EMR: Meditech
Procedures: Intubation, central lines, ultrasound, OB delivery, dislocation reductions, chest tubes, trauma management, laceration repair; all sites see high acuity including STEMI and stroke
Affiliated Sites: Must be willing to work at the affiliated hospital and freestanding EDs in Corpus Christi, Northwest, and Rockport

Requirements:
- ABEM requested; non-ABEM considered for FSED coverage
- Active Texas license and DEA
- Credentialing: approximately 60-90 days
