Emergency Medicine APP Needed in St. Louis (will license)

Job description

Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Start Date: October 2026
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (ongoing opportunity)
Willing to License | Temporary Privileges Available (clean background) | Compact Licensure Accepted

**Schedule**

* 12-hour shifts
* No call
* Weekends: 9:00 AM–9:00 PM
* Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM or 10:00 AM–10:00 PM
* October and November schedules released in August/September; future dates assigned as needed

**Practice Details**

* Academic Medical Center & Level I Trauma Center
* Adult Emergency Department
* Approximately 50,000 annual patient visits
* Team-based environment with Emergency Physicians, APPs, Nursing, and Care Partners
* APPs provide care in Medical Screening Exam (MSE)/Triage and Moderate-Acuity (ESI Level 3) areas
* EMR: Epic
* PACS: Sectra

**Procedures**

* Simple laceration repair
* Incision and drainage of uncomplicated abscesses
* Foreign body removal
* Splinting and immobilization
* Wound management

**Requirements**

* Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
* Board Certified
* Active state license (licensing assistance available)
* BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required
* Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience

**Skills Required**

* Independently perform Medical Screening Examinations (MSEs)
* Rapid patient assessment and triage
* Evaluate and manage moderate-acuity emergency patients
* Manage selected ESI Level 3 and lower-acuity cases
* Order and interpret labs and imaging
* Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and determine patient disposition
* Recognize patient deterioration and collaborate with Emergency Physicians
* Strong documentation, communication, and clinical decision-making skills

**Credentialing**

* Temporary privileges available for candidates with a clean background
* Ongoing coverage with the potential to transition to a PRN role once permanent staffing is complete
