NP/PA Emergency Medicine – Locum Tenens – Fort Walton Beach, FL Area

Job description

A hospital-based emergency department in the Fort Walton Beach, FL area is seeking an Emergency Medicine APP (NP or PA) for a locum tenens assignment. Providers with prior large-system ED experience are strongly preferred as metrics are an important part of the role.

Position Information:
- 10-12 shifts per month (shifts do not need to be consecutive)
- 60-120 hours per month required
- Locum providers must be willing to work all shift types

Volume & Workflow:
- 55,000 patients per year
- ~155 patients per day (including ~30 peds/day)
- Admission rate: 25%
- APP sees 1.7 patients/hour on average
- Facility average: 1.55 patients/hour per provider
- 42 hours/day of physician coverage

Requirements:
- Emergency Room experience (ideally Level 2 or greater facility)
- Minimum 1 year EM experience (2+ preferred)
- Clean credentialing file
