Emergency Medicine APP Needed in NE (will license)

Location: Valentine, NE

Start: January, February, or March

Contract Length: 26 weeks with the option to extend

Shift Details:
• Average of ~10 “twenty-four-hour” on site shifts per month (i.e. 24-hour coverage shifts)
• Primary ER call coverage about 10 days/month, with ~9 patients per day on call days.
• Call schedule: primary ER call 3–5 days at a time; MDs provide secondary call coverage, with a CRNA available for anesthesia needs.

Schedule:
• 24/7/365 coverage model for the ED, shared among PAs/APPs.
• On average, ~10 24-hour shifts/month.

Work Details:
• Support staff: Providers on call - not always on site - crit access and OB essential for position - OB nurse charge shift charge nurses lpns ward click rad on site - lab on-site
• Amount of coverage needed per month: ~10 24-hour shifts
• Patients per day: ~9 patients/day on call days.
• Patient population/age: general ED patients
• Department description: Emergency Department at a small/rural hospital; 24/7/365 ER coverage for community.
• EMR: Meditech expanse
• Hospital bed size: 25 beds, L IV trauma
• Special procedures: surgical experience (assisting in cesarean sections or other procedures) is a plus
• Skills required:
o Emergency medicine experience required. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE?? 3 years +
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
o Surgical experience (e.g. assisting in procedures) is a plus.

Practice Setting:
• Hospital (Emergency Department)

Requirements:
• Board Certification: must graduate from an accredited PA or APRN program
• License required: Valid Nebraska PA-C or APRN license.
• DEA: Valid DEA registration required
• Certifications preferred:
• Certifications required: Current NCCPA certification or APRN licensure.
• Minimum experience required: Prior experience in emergency medicine

Credentialing Timeframe: 3 months - less how quickly they respond from new candidate - background check 2 weeks
