Job description

Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner needed for swing shift coverage at an acute care facility. High-functioning ED with physician supervision and strong specialty support. Ongoing monthly need with consistent shift availability.

Swing Shift: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

10-hour shifts

Anticipated 14–20 shifts per month

8 ED beds

5 ICU beds (Open ICU)

~13,423 annual ED visits

10% admission rate

Observation unit available

Transfers as needed

Admits Pediatrics (approx. 20%)

Acuity Levels 1–5

Clinical Environment

APP supervision required by ED Physician

ED Physician responds to Rapid Response (handoff to hospitalist upon arrival)

No scribes

Radiology reads performed by Radiology (ED physician can read as needed)

CT, Ultrasound, and MRI available 24/7

Bedside ultrasound available

EMR

EPIC

Requirements

Active Texas license required

Active BLS and ACLS required

Board Certified / Board Eligible

Clean file preferred for temporary privileges

Credentialing

Approx. 90 days

Temporary privileges available with clean file

Notarized ID required

COVID vaccination/booster required (medical exemption accepted)
