Emergency Medicine NP/PA – Locum Tenens – Danville, VA

Job description

A 200-bed regional medical center in Danville, VA is seeking an Emergency Medicine NP or PA for a long-term locum tenens assignment of 6+ months, starting approximately April 30, 2026. The rate is $110/hr with 8–12 shifts per month available.

Shift options include day shifts (9a–9p, 11a–11p, 6a–6p), night shifts (6p–6a), and swing shifts. The emergency department has 32 beds and sees approximately 41,000 patients annually (1.3 patients/hour). The facility uses Medhost EDIS and Meditech EMR systems.

Requirements include a minimum of 3 years of emergency medicine experience, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications, and board certification (NCCPA or NCCNP). Temporary privileges are granted, with an average of 30 days to obtain. Full specialty backup is available including vascular surgery, gastroenterology, general surgery, cardiology, neurosurgery, OB/GYN, anesthesiology, and radiology.

The provider may also be cross-credentialed at a sister facility in nearby Martinsville, VA. Danville is a historic Virginia city offering affordable living, outdoor recreation along the Dan River, and easy access to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
