Emergency Medicine NP/PA Needed in Charlottesville, VA:
📅 Start: ASAP
📋 Contract: 26 weeks | Locum Tenens – 1099

Schedule:
Typically 2x12s + 2x8s weekly
Will consider 3x12s weekly
Blocked/clustered scheduling
Days & nights; most pressing need is days
Weekends/holidays needed; preference for availability at least every other weekend
No call

Setting:
Academic hospital Emergency Department Observation/CDU
Adults
Approx. 7–10 observation patients/day
Epic
2 CDU RNs + dedicated EMT support
Emergency Medicine attending support immediately available onsite

Clinical Details:
Manage protocol-driven ED observation patients
Common cases: chest pain, TIA/CVA evaluation, syncope, cellulitis, abdominal pain, dehydration & specialty consult pathways
Strong independent clinical decision-making required
Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment

Requirements:
Board Certified NP or PA
NP certifications considered: Acute Care, Family, or Emergency NP
2+ years of experience preferred; may consider less depending on provider
Emergency Medicine or Observation experience preferred; related acute care backgrounds may be considered
BLS & ACLS required
ATLS preferred
VA license required
DEA + VA CSR required prior to start
Epic experience required
Mandatory COVID & Flu vaccination
Approx. 60-day credentialing timeframe
Orientation completed on first shift
