JOB SUMMARY
Locum Emergency Medicine Physicians are needed to provide emergency medical care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric. The hospital is a Level 2 trauma center and a regional cardiac center. Physicians will work as a team in the department, assisting each other with complicated patients and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PRACTICE SETTING
Provide coverage in the Emergency Department (ED)
Average patient volume: 1.8 patients per hour
Physicians work collaboratively to manage complex patients
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
Reductions
Cardioversions
Moderate sedation
Laceration repair
Chest tube placement
Intubations
Central lines
Traumatic injury management
EKG interpretation
SUPPORT STAFF & COLLABORATION
Collaborate with specialties including General Surgery, GI, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Nephrology, Cardiology/Cath Lab, Urology
Nursing support includes trauma-trained, ACLS, and PALS-certified nurses

EMR system: EPIC
Documentation support: Dragon Dictation

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Emergency Medicine (required)
Active AR state license (required)
ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS, DEA (required)
Clean malpractice (required)
Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation (required)
