Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Federal Critical Access ED | Parker, AZ | 12-Hour Shifts, No Call

Job description

Start: February 1, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 6 months (flexible)
Coverage: Emergency department, federal critical access hospital
Schedule: 12-hour day (8:00–20:00), mid (10:00–22:00), and night (20:00–8:00) shifts, 7 days per week including weekends and holidays; typically 5–7 day or night stretches; must be willing to work nights
Call: No call
Volume: Approximately 36,500 visits per year across the facility; 6,500+ ED visits annually
Practice Setting: 17-bed Joint Commission-accredited critical access hospital with onsite pharmacy, lab, and radiology
Patient Population: All ages

• Days: primarily ESI level 3 patients (some level 2s), assisting fast track with level 4s and 5s when beds open
• Nights: no fast track provider; nights tend to be heavier on level 4s and 5s with some 3s
• Hospitalists are in house 24/7 for admissions; transfers arranged for services not offered on site
• Cross-cover inpatient holding orders when the inpatient provider is off site
• Lodging, food, and shopping available locally and in Lake Havasu City (about 39 miles away)

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (with proof of scheduled exam) in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or Family Medicine with current ED experience; IM-boarded physicians must also be boarded in Pediatrics
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an ED provider
• Active license in any US state, plus DEA
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required; NRP preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination or appropriate exemption
• No felonies, unresolved federal debt, or malpractice in the last 5 years
• Review process may take several weeks
