Job description

Emergency Medicine physicians needed for a Central Florida ER locums opportunity through HealthTrust. This is a staffing shortage need with coverage at a main hospital and associated freestanding ER sites. The assignment is expected to be ongoing, with possible 1 to 2 year coverage.

Opportunity Details:
Rate: $285/hr
Setting: Main hospital ER and affiliated freestanding ERs
Location: Central Florida
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing, possible 1 to 2 year need
Trauma Level: Main hospital is Level 2 trauma
Beds: Main site has 31 beds, second main site has 28 beds
Shift Times: Mostly 7a to 7p and 7p to 7a
Additional Shifts: Two 8 hour shifts available daily
Call: No call
Temp Privileges: Available
Orientation: Morning of first shadow shift
Patient Volume: Freestanding ERs average around 2 patients per hour
Support: APP coverage varies by site and shift
Additional Support: EM residency program and APP training program
Common Cases: Chest pain, abdominal pain, lower acuity emergency cases, and vertical 3 patients
Coverage Model: Freestanding ERs usually 1 physician, main sites usually 2 physicians
Additional Coverage: Must be willing to work at associated freestanding ER sites

Requirements:
EM board eligible after successful completion of an accredited residency
FM or IM may be considered for freestanding ERs with at least 2 years of ED experience and documented procedural proficiency
Proficiency in all core emergency care procedures required
Must be comfortable with central access, arterial line, lumbar puncture, intubation, pacing, and orthopedic stabilization
Active FL license preferred
