Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Hospital ED + Freestanding EDs | Brandon & Lakeland, FL Area | PRN, No Call

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 6–12 months initially (ongoing PRN)
Coverage: Emergency medicine float coverage at a main hospital ED and affiliated freestanding EDs in the Brandon/Lakeland, FL area
Schedule: AM and PM shifts; freestanding EDs use 12-hour shifts; main campus may use 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts
Call: No call
Volume: Freestanding EDs about 2–2.5 patients/hour at peak (8–10% admission rate); main hospital ED about 80 bays (about 30% admission rate)
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital ED and freestanding emergency departments (non-trauma)
Patient Population: Low to mid acuity at freestanding EDs; mid to high acuity at the main hospital

• Freestanding EDs: 12 ER bays, single-physician coverage, no nurse/APP triage
• Main hospital: multiple EM physicians on duty with nurse/APP triage
• Orientation: 2 shadow shifts, 1 IT day, and in-house medical staff orientation
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with at least 2 years of ED experience
• Active Florida license and DEA required
• Case logs required
• Must be open to PRN scheduling
• Non-local candidates only (more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
