Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Freestanding ED | DeFuniak Springs, FL (Panhandle) | PRN, No Call

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Ongoing PRN coverage
Coverage: Freestanding emergency department in the Florida Panhandle
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; day and night shifts available; 24-hour physician coverage
Call: No call
Volume: Average census of about 30; solo physician coverage
Practice Setting: 12-bed freestanding emergency department with CT, X-ray, and lab

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of ED patients
• Solo coverage with no APP support
• Consultants available at the affiliated main hospital (typically cardiology, general and orthopedic surgery, and nephrology)
• Documentation in Meditech
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (BC FM or IM with current EM experience considered)
• Active Florida license and DEA required
• Must be open to PRN scheduling
• Non-local candidates only (more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
