Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Hospital ED + Freestanding EDs | Port Charlotte, FL | PRN, No Call

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Ongoing PRN coverage
Coverage: Emergency medicine at a hospital ED in Port Charlotte and affiliated freestanding EDs in Southwest Florida
Schedule: Day and night shifts available; schedule TBD
Call: No call
Volume: About 35,000 annual ED visits; 20 ED beds
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital ED and freestanding emergency departments

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of ED patients
• ED physicians do not write admitting orders
• Strong multispecialty medical staff support
• ED ultrasound and fully integrated PACS
• Documentation in Meditech with M-Modal dictation
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABPS EM boarded physicians considered)
• Active Florida license and DEA required
• ACLS and PALS required
• Must be willing to work at affiliated freestanding EDs
• Must be open to PRN scheduling
• Non-local candidates only (more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
