Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Community Hospital ED | Vidalia, GA | PRN 11-Hour Shifts, No Call

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Ongoing PRN coverage
Coverage: Emergency department
Schedule: 11-hour shifts, 6:00–17:00, 11:00–22:00, or 19:00–6:00; AM and PM coverage needed
Call: No call
Volume: About 1.8–2.0 patients per hour; 12–16% admission rate
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital (non-trauma); 20 ED bays, 12 fast-track bays, 3 high-security rooms

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of high-volume, high-acuity patients
• Typically 2–4 EM providers working simultaneously with overlapping shifts
• Fast track open 8:00–2:00; nurse/APP triage for lower-acuity patients
• Orientation: 1 day plus 1–2 shadow shifts
• Documentation in Meditech Expanse
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
• 2–3 years of recent EM experience with high volume and acuity
• Unrestricted Georgia license (or eligible) and active Georgia DEA required
• No history of license revocation, restriction, or suspension
• Case logs required
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Non-local candidates only (more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
