Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to work locum tenens coverage in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Job #51213.

Facility: CHI (CommonSpirit Health)

The Emergency Medicine Physician role:
Ongoing locum tenens assignment providing transition coverage.

Coverage need: 4-12 shifts per month
Shift options:
6:30 AM - 2:30 PM
1:30 PM - 10:30 PM
9:30 PM - 6:30 AM
Routine Emergency Department coverage
Respond to codes
Limited trauma responsibilities
Annual ED volume of approximately 22,000 patients
12-20 hours of APP coverage daily
Epic EMR
Dragon dictation system (no scribes)
Streamlined transfer center process
Patient disposition rates:
77% discharged
14% admitted
2.8% observation
2.5% transferred

Emergency Medicine Physician Requirements:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
Board Certified Family Medicine physicians with a minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department experience will be considered
Active Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibility required
Active Iowa DEA required
ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
Must have actively practiced Emergency Medicine within the last 12 months, or completed an Emergency Medicine residency within the last 6 months
Failed background checks, DUIs, license suspensions, or similar disciplinary actions are considered disqualifying
Provider availability must be submitted at time of name clear

Iowa License or IMLC

ATLS
BLS
PALS
Board Certification or Board Eligibility
