Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Level II Trauma Center | Independence, MO (Kansas City Area) | PRN, No Call

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Ongoing PRN coverage (5–7 FTE need)
Coverage: Emergency medicine at a Level II trauma center and affiliated freestanding EDs
Schedule: Physician shifts 6:00–16:00, 9:00–19:00, 12:00–22:00, 15:00–1:00, 19:00–5:00, and 21:00–7:00; freestanding EDs require 12-hour shifts; days, nights, and weekends
Call: No call
Volume: Average census of about 170; admission rate about 24%
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital, Level II trauma center
Patient Population: All case types; primarily blunt trauma

• Fast-paced Level II trauma emergency medicine
• Standard emergency medicine procedures
• Transfer or limited coverage for plastics/hand, neuro-interventional radiology, and pediatrics
• Preference for providers willing to work at the main hospital and affiliated freestanding EDs
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• ABEM Board Certification required (any experience level)
• Active Kansas or Missouri license, or IMLC; DEA required
• ACLS and PALS required; ATLS completed at least once
• Must be flexible for days, nights, and weekends
• Non-local candidates only (more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
