Description:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity beginning September 2026. This assignment is based in a critical access emergency department serving patients across all age groups, including pediatric populations. The ideal provider will have experience in community or rural emergency medicine settings and be comfortable practicing with limited onsite specialty support.

This role is primarily focused on evening and night coverage for approximately 10-13 shifts per month over a 3-month assignment and ongoing

About the facility:
‣ Critical Access Hospital
‣ Emergency Department setting
‣ 25 ED beds
‣ Average daily census: 20-24 patients
‣ Approximately 14% pediatric volume
‣ Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
‣ Average patient volume: 2.5-3 patients per hour
‣ Limited onsite specialty support
‣ Epic EMR system
‣ Housing available through hospital

Compensation:
‣ Pay Rate: $260/Hr. - Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.

‣ Additional Compensation Information:
‣ Overtime paid at standard hourly rate

Job Responsibilities:
‣ Provide emergency medicine coverage in a critical access ED
‣ Evaluate and treat patients across all age groups
‣ Manage emergency medical conditions independently
‣ Collaborate with nursing and clinical support teams
‣ Document patient encounters using Epic EMR
‣ Deliver care in a community-based emergency setting with limited specialty backup
‣ Maintain efficient patient throughput in moderate-volume ED environment

Qualifications:
‣ Board Certification in Emergency Medicine required
‣ Internal Medicine or Family Practice boards not accepted
‣ Active Massachusetts medical license required
‣ ACLS certification required
‣ Massachusetts DEA required
‣ Minimum 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience required
‣ Epic EMR experience required
‣ Experience in rural or community emergency medicine preferred

Working Hours:
‣ Start Date: September 2026
‣ Assignment Length: 3 months Ongoing
‣ Approximately 10-13 shifts per month
‣ No call required

September Shift Times:
3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
10:00 PM – 7:00 AM

October–December Shift Times:
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
