Job description
Shift Types: Nights (Primary Need); Flexible 8, 11, and 12-Hour Shifts Available (e.g., 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Weekend Requirements: Yes
On-Call Requirements: None
Credentialing Timeline: Fast-Track / Temporary Privileges Available
Facility & Clinical Overview
Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center
Annual ED Volume: Approx. 55,000 visits
Total Bed Count: 32 Beds
Admission Rate: ~30% of ED patients admitted (Admissions handled directly by Hospitalist/Admitting Service)
EMR System: Meditech
Coverage & Support: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage on site. Emergency Medicine physicians do NOT run inpatient codes.
Specialty Protocols: Deliveries go directly to Labor & Delivery. Emergency Department provides radio supervision/monitoring for paramedics and ambulance crews. On-call physician response time mandated at 30 minutes per hospital bylaws.
Coverage Scope: Provider will float between two regional emergency facilities within the health system network.
Candidate Submission & Qualification Requirements
Licensure & Certifications:
Board Certification: Board Certified by ABEM or Board Eligible within 5 years of residency completion [REQUIRED].
State Licensure: Active Massachusetts Medical License [HIGHLY PREFERRED - MA licensed candidates prioritized].
Clinical Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications [REQUIRED].
Logistics & Submission Criteria:
Locality Requirement: Must be a local provider (no flights required) [REQUIRED].
NPDB Report: Active Self-Query NPDB report pulled within the last 30 days [REQUIRED at presentation].
Documentation: Clean background required for expedited temporary credentialing [REQUIRED].
Submission Details: Must include candidate availability and requested hourly rate with initial name clear [REQUIRED].
Travel & Lodging Support
Reimbursement: Hotel and driving mileage covered by the facility (no air travel).
