Job Description
Noor Locums is recruiting an Emergency Medicine Physician for an exciting ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Iron Mountain, Michigan (49801). This assignment is ideal for physicians seeking consistent monthly coverage with the flexibility of block scheduling.
The Emergency Department manages approximately 20,000 annual patient visits and offers a collaborative practice environment where hospitalists perform all admissions, allowing Emergency Medicine physicians to concentrate on patient evaluation, stabilization, and treatment.
Providers with ongoing availability for 6–8 shifts per month are highly encouraged to apply. Night shifts are the primary coverage need and are commonly scheduled in consecutive blocks, making this an excellent opportunity for physicians who prefer block scheduling and predictable work patterns.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute illnesses and traumatic injuries.
Perform comprehensive emergency medical assessments and formulate treatment plans.
Stabilize critically ill or injured patients requiring emergent intervention.
Perform emergency procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine practice.
Interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic testing.
Collaborate with nursing staff, consulting specialists, EMS personnel, and ancillary departments.
Accurately document patient encounters using AllScripts (Sunrise) EMR.
Coordinate patient disposition, including transfers and consultations when necessary.
Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered emergency medical care while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
Required
MD or DO
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
Active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain)
Current DEA registration
Current AHA certifications as required by Marshfield Clinic Health System
Clean malpractice history with no pending malpractice claims
Ability to obtain facility privileges
Preferred
ABEM Board Certification
New Emergency Medicine graduates are encouraged to apply
Desired Skills
Emergency patient assessment and rapid clinical decision-making
Advanced airway management
Trauma evaluation and stabilization
Cardiac emergency management
Critical care and resuscitation
Emergency procedures including suturing, splinting, fracture reduction, incision and drainage, and procedural sedation
Interpretation of ECGs, laboratory findings, and diagnostic imaging
Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration
Experience with AllScripts (Sunrise) EMR preferred
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
Working Hours
Primary Coverage Needed:
6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
Additional shifts may also be available:
6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Providers should anticipate 6–8 shifts per month, with many night
