Facility:
This established medical center features a specialized 12-bed OB/ED department that provides comprehensive emergency obstetric care to the community. The facility operates as a Level 1 trauma center with dedicated labor and delivery services, offering excellent support staff including RN coverage, sonographer services, and technical support throughout the day.
Opportunity:
Physician - Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology
Job Details:
• Provide emergency obstetric care in a dedicated 12-bed OB/ED unit with no call requirements
• Handle 40-60 patient encounters per day on average with 30-40 shifts per month
• Evaluate pregnant patients up to 6 weeks postpartum
• Work with 24/7 physician coverage supported by APP coverage for 18 hours daily
• Collaborate with 2-3 RN staff depending on time of day, including 2 in triage and 2-3 in the back
• Sonographer support available 18 hours per day and tech support for 12 hours daily
• Manage low and high risk pregnancies with comprehensive obstetric skills
• Perform FHR interpretation including NST/CST/FSE procedures
• Conduct OB ultrasounds with Level I and II capabilities including performance and interpretation
• Handle routine and complicated deliveries including vaginal, cesarean sections, breech, and multiple births
• Manage pregnancy complications including abruptions and VBACs
• Perform amniocentesis and repair 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
• Provide minor laparoscopic procedures including tubal ligations
• Must be board certified or board eligible with Missouri license or IMLC
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 60 days
• Start date August 1, 2026 with ongoing coverage needs
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
