Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Level III Trauma, Stroke & STEMI Center | Cape Girardeau, MO | 10-Hour Shifts

Job description

Start: November 30, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 6 months
Coverage: Emergency department
Schedule: 10–14 shifts per month; 10-hour shifts starting at 5a, 8a, 12p, 3p, 6p, or 9p
Call: No call
Volume: About 100–120 patients per day (40,000–41,000 per year)
Practice Setting: 306-bed acute care hospital; Level III trauma, stroke, and STEMI center; 26 bays plus 4 split-flow rooms and 3 trauma bays
Patient Population: All ages

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of patients of all ages
• 8 APPs managing their own patient load; nursing ratio of 1:3 or less
• Documentation in Epic
• Travel covered

Requirements
• ABEM Board Certification required
• Missouri license or IMLC required
• DEA and CSR required
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required
• Clean background required
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
