Job description

9 ER beds 2 of the 9 are trauma room, additional triage, no trauma certification currently. used to be IV but lost certification.
Not a critical access hospital
E-Prescribe needs to be completed before sending file to facility
PALS NOT required but preferred*
Requires Board Certified/Board Eligible, ATLS, ACLS
Facility Overview: 16 inpatient beds, 7 ER beds, 2 trauma rooms

Available Equipment, X-ray, CT, Mobile ultrasound, Glidescope, Vein finder
2 RNs on shift at all times
Specialties Onsite
Cardiology: 2 days/week
Orthopedics: 1 day/week
General Surgery: 5 days/week
Shift Duties
ER physician is responsible for codes
Manage emergent situations until hospitalist arrives (within 30 minutes)
Admissions:
Daytime: Call patient’s PCP
Night/weekends: Admit to on-call hospitalist
End-of-shift:
Face-to-face handoff required
Log off computer and lock all charts before leaving

Accommodations
Call Room: Private space with desk, bed, shower, and TV
Physician Lounge: TV, fridge, snacks, and drinks
Attire: Scrubs preferred; no other hospital logos permitted
Meals: Provided by the nursing home upon request, or bring/order your own. There are great local restaurants.
