Job description

Start: Flexible
Length: Permanent, full-time
Coverage: Emergency department
Schedule: 12-hour physician shifts, 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00; APP coverage 9:00–21:00 and 14:00–2:00
Volume: About 28,000 annual ED visits (about 77 per day); about 2.0 patients per hour for MDs; 29% pediatric visits; 8.5% admission rate; 8% transfer rate
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital, Level IV trauma; 19 ED beds; new hospital opened in 2022

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of adult and pediatric patients
• APP support with overlapping coverage
• Specialty backup: general surgery, orthopedics, and obstetrics
• Documentation in Meditech 6.0

Requirements
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Texas license (or eligible)
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS required
