Locum Emergency Medicine Physician | Nights Only | Fredericksburg, VA | 12-Hour Shifts, No Call, PRN

Job description

Start: January 4, 2027 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Ongoing PRN coverage
Coverage: Emergency department, nights only
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; 7 AM / 7 PM shift change; exact shift times TBD
Call: No call
Volume: Approximately 23 patients/day; about 8,500 projected annual visits
Practice Setting: Emergency department with 24-hour physician coverage

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of adult and pediatric patients
• 11 private treatment rooms and a fully equipped trauma bay
• Separate adult and pediatric waiting areas; dedicated EMS ambulance bay
• Coverage may be adjusted or increased based on patient flow
• Opportunity to also work at the main hospital
• Travel covered: flight, lodging, and rental car

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABEM or AOBEM; ABPS Emergency Medicine boarded candidates welcome
• Active Virginia license required
• ATLS, ACLS, and PALS required at time of submission
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must be open to PRN scheduling
• Non-local candidates only (more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Credentialing: approximately 90 days
