Nurse Practitioner

Job description

We are looking for a compassionate and clinically sharp Nurse Practitioner to join our care team in person at our San Antonio, TX office. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric and medical support to our clients, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, high-quality care. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred, as we serve a diverse client population and language access remains a priority for us.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including psychiatric and medical evaluations, for adolescent and adult populations
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in alignment with client needs and organizational standards
Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with applicable state laws, scope of practice, and clinical best practices
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation within the organization's Behavioral Health EHR & Practice Management System within forty-eight (48) hours of each session
Collaborate actively with the interdisciplinary care team — including therapists, clinical leadership, and administrative staff — to support continuity of care and positive client outcomes
Adhere to all ethical guidelines, licensing board requirements, and state-specific regulations applicable to your licensure
Follow all crisis management and emergency response protocols, including mandated reporting obligations (Section 7.7)
Participate in required supervision (if applicable), staff meetings, and ongoing professional development
Comply with all clinical, administrative, and operational policies outlined in the Helen's Project Policy and Procedure Manual
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) strongly preferred
Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings — this is an area of ongoing growth for our organization and specialty background is strongly valued
Familiarity with Behavioral Health EHR & Practice Management Systems
Experience working with adolescent populations (ages 15+)
Background in trauma-informed care, anxiety, depression, or co-occurring disorders
Work Details
Employment Classifications Available:
Full-Time W-2: Minimum 32 available clinical hours per week
Part-Time W-2: Minimum 20 available clinical hours per week
Flex W-2: Minimum 16 available clinical hours per week
Location: This is an in-person position based at our San Antonio, TX office. Employees must maintain a professional and HIPAA-compliant standard of practice on site at all times. (Helen's Project also delivers care via HIPAA-compliant telehealth, so this is a blended in-person/telehealth environment.)
Scheduling: Flexible scheduling is available, subject to minimum availability requirements based on employment classification. Scheduling is managed through the Front Desk / Reception Department.
Licensure & Credentialing Requirements
Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner licensure in Texas
DEA registration (if applicable to role scope)
All credentialing and payer enrollment must be completed prior to client-facing activation
Employees are responsible for maintaining licensure, completing required continuing education, and notifying HR immediately of any changes in licensure status
No client-facing duties may begin until full onboarding clearance is granted by Human Resources (Section 5.5)
Pre-Employment Requirements
All offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check, credential verification, and onboarding orientation. A mandatory one-week onboarding training is required prior to beginning client-facing duties. No client-facing work may begin until full onboarding clearance is granted by Human Resources.
