Position Overview:
We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for a locum tenens opportunity providing medical consult services within an inpatient psychiatric unit. This role is strictly focused on general medical care—no behavioral health responsibilities.

The FNP will treat adult patients with common acute and chronic conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team.

Schedule & Assignment Details:

• Monday – Friday

• 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM

• Full-time, onsite coverage required

• No telehealth – onsite only

• Start Date: Upon credentialing (approx. 90 days)

• Ongoing assignment

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide medical consults within an inpatient psych unit

• Manage a range of conditions including:

  • Minor acute illnesses (sore throat, rashes, etc.)

  • Chronic conditions such as diabetes

  • General medical evaluations and treatment plans

• Perform inpatient rounding and consult services

• Provide limited emergency department coverage as needed

Practice Setting:

• Adult patient population

• 20-bed inpatient unit

• Collaborative support team including:

  • Advanced practice providers

  • Social workers

  • Nursing staff

Requirements:

• Active Massachusetts FNP license

• Experience in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred

• Comfortable managing adult patients in an inpatient setting

• This is a medical-only role within a psychiatric setting

• No behavioral health responsibilities
