Family Nurse Practitioner – Family Practice Clinic

Fairfax, Virginia

Assignment Length:** 13 Weeks
Start Date: September 2026

Compensation

* All-inclusive rate
* No travel or lodging reimbursement

Schedule

* Flexible schedule
* Typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
* Option to work four 10-hour shifts

Practice Setting

* Family Practice Clinic

* Outpatient setting

* Conduct comprehensive health assessments, annual wellness visits, and preventive care for patients across the lifespan.
* Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, asthma, COPD, and thyroid disorders.
* Perform routine physical exams, well-woman exams, and Medicare Annual Wellness Visits.
* Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, radiology, and diagnostic test results.
* Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
* Manage chronic disease follow-up and provide patient education on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle modifications.
* Perform routine office procedures, including joint injections, skin biopsies, lesion removal, cryotherapy, incision and drainage, laceration repair, and suture removal (as applicable).
* Provide preventive screenings, immunizations, and age-appropriate health maintenance.
* Coordinate care with specialists and facilitate referrals, follow-up, and care transitions.
* Document patient encounters accurately using electronic medical records (e.g., Epic, Athena, Cerner, Meditech).
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
* Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and self-management strategies.
* Manage same-day sick visits, urgent care needs, and telehealth appointments when applicable.
* Ensure compliance with quality measures, evidence-based guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Credentialing

* Approximately 4 weeks (may vary)
