Collaborating Physician
Job description
• Provides overall medical direction to the regional Clinical Services team and ensures quality and appropriateness of care for members
• Serves as clinical subject matter expert for the statewide Clinical Services program to external customers
• Understands patient care trends, gaps in expertise of the clinicians and develop educational offerings to address
• Regularly reviews and audits a sample of member Comprehensive Health Assessments (CHAs) completed by Nurse Practitioners in accordance with company policy
• Participates in quarterly meetings with Clinical Services leadership of the company in order to review new policies, make changes to existing policies and other information as it pertains to CHAs
• Supervises local collaborating physicians and ensures they provide high quality oversight and review that meet regulatory and programmatic requirements
• Is available by telephone for the Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Services team members, or meets face to face, as per specific state and program requirements
• Conducts all collaborating physician role requirements in the market, as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education
• Licensed Physician (MD/OD)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience working with Nurse Practitioners and other clinical team members
• Must be licensed in the state in which services are provided and maintain credentials in good standing
