Emergency Medicine Physician | Community Hospital ED | Del Rio, TX | 12-Hour Shifts, Locum or Perm, FM/IM Considered

Job description

Start: As soon as credentialed
Length: 3 months to 1 year (permanent also considered)
Coverage: Emergency department
Schedule: Physician shifts 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00; APP shifts 10:00–20:00 and 16:00–2:00
Volume: About 25,500 annual visits (about 70 per day); about 1.4 patients per hour for MDs; 10% admission rate; 5% transfer rate
Practice Setting: Community hospital, Level IV trauma; 12 ED beds plus a 4-bed APP-staffed express care

• Emergency evaluation, treatment, and disposition of ED patients
• Specialty backup: general surgery, urology, OB/GYN, interventional cardiology, nephrology, interventional radiology, and pediatrics
• Documentation in Meditech Expanse

Requirements
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, or BC Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with ED experience
• Active Texas license, or IMLC
• ACLS, ATLS (if not BC EM), and PALS required
• Credentialing: approximately 90–160 days
