Job description
An exciting locum tenens opportunity is available for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Primary Care Physician with Obstetrics experience to provide coverage in Port Townsend, Washington (ZIP Code 98368). This assignment offers an excellent work-life balance, flexible scheduling, and the chance to work alongside a highly supportive clinical team while enjoying one of Washington's most scenic coastal communities.
This position is ideal for physicians who enjoy caring for patients across all age groups while providing comprehensive outpatient primary care and obstetrical services.
Assignment Details
Location: Port Townsend, Washington 98368
Assignment Dates:
September 2026 – January 2027
Schedule:
Three (3) 10-hour shifts per week
8 hours of direct patient care
2 hours of administrative/charting time
Days of the week to be determined
Preferred scheduling:
Two weeks on / Two weeks off
Alternating weeks
Full-time availability also considered
Call Schedule:
One weekday call per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
One weekend call rotation per month
Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for patients across the lifespan, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Deliver preventive medicine and wellness services
Perform comprehensive women's health evaluations and management
Provide prenatal care and obstetrical services
Perform Cesarean sections
Manage newborn admissions and inpatient rounding
Collaborate closely with nursing staff, medical assistants, and other healthcare providers
Maintain timely and accurate documentation using Epic EMR
Participate in scheduled call coverage and weekend rotations
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining high clinical standards
Qualifications
MD or DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Primary Care
Active Washington medical license or willingness to obtain one
IMLC physicians encouraged to apply
Active DEA registration
Washington CSR (or ability to obtain)
Current ACLS certification
Current BLS certification
Current PALS certification
Comfortable providing full-spectrum Family Medicine with Obstetrics
Experience performing Cesarean sections and neonatal admissions preferred
