Job Description

A respected healthcare organization in Ashland, Wisconsin is seeking a Family Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity. This full-time, clinic-based position is ideal for physicians seeking a flexible outpatient practice without call or hospital responsibilities.

The provider will deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages while working in a collaborative environment alongside onsite Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs). With Epic EMR, a manageable patient volume, and scheduling flexibility, this opportunity offers an excellent balance between professional fulfillment and personal time.

Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outpatient family medicine services
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
Conduct annual wellness exams and preventive health screenings
Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
Develop individualized treatment plans
Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices
Coordinate care with specialists and ancillary services when appropriate
Document patient encounters accurately using Epic EMR
Collaborate with onsite Advanced Practice Clinicians and clinic staff

Qualifications
MD
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
Active Wisconsin medical license (or eligible for licensure)
Current DEA registration
Experience in outpatient primary care preferred
Comfortable treating patients across all age groups
Excellent communication and patient-centered care skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Schedule
Full-time outpatient clinic
No call
No hospital coverage
No inpatient responsibilities
Flexible daily start and end times based on clinic needs
Opportunity to travel home for an occasional weekend each month
