💰 Compensation:

$200–$215/hour

Position Overview:
Seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to provide high-quality care across both the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) and inpatient psychiatric services. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on acute stabilization and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment in CSU and inpatient settings

Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

Manage acute psychiatric crises and provide stabilization

Perform risk assessments and oversee involuntary holds (e.g., 5150)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, and medical staff

Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and interventions accurately

Communicate with families and coordinate with community resources

Participate in shift handoffs and maintain regulatory compliance

Schedule:

Flexible scheduling

Day, evening, and overnight shifts available

8–12 hour shifts

Requirements:

MD or DO

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

Active California license (or ability to obtain)

Experience in inpatient or acute psychiatric settings preferred

Manage acute psychiatric crises and provide stabilization interventions

Perform risk assessments, including danger to self/others and grave disability

Initiate and oversee involuntary holds (e.g., 5150) in accordance with California law

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, and medical staff

Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely and accurate manner

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and community providers to ensure continuity of care

Participate in daily rounds, case reviews, and shift handoffs

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and quality standards
Qualifications

Qualifications:

MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

Active California medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start)

DEA registration required

Experience in inpatient, crisis stabilization, or acute psychiatric settings preferred

Strong clinical assessment and crisis management skills

Knowledge of involuntary hold processes (e.g., 5150) and California regulations

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Flexibility to work day, evening, or overnight shifts
