Locum Tenens Physician – Gastroenterology

Shift: 24-Hour Call Coverage with Inpatient Rounding

End Date: December 28, 2026

Position Details:

Patient Population: Adult inpatients (100% adult)

Setting: Hospital-based inpatient consult service in a 196-bed acute care hospital

Responsibilities:

Provide 24-hour GI call coverage
Perform inpatient rounding
Manage ED and inpatient GI consults
Perform endoscopic procedures as needed
Hand off cases to local GI physicians at the end of coverage

Required Procedures:

Bread and Butter Gastroenterology
Endoscopy
ERCP preferred

EMR System: Epic

Support Staff: Collaborative coverage with five local Gastroenterologists

Days Per Month: One week of coverage with opportunity to join the ongoing locum pool

On-Call/Weekends: Yes – 24-hour call including weekends

Submission Requirements:
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Active Georgia license
Georgia DEA and CSR
BLS and ACLS certifications
NPDB Self-Query within 30 days
Must be local (no flights reimbursed)

• One-week assignment with potential for future ongoing shifts
• No clinic responsibilities; inpatient-only coverage
• Expedited credentialing for providers with clean files
