Locum - Physician - Gastroenterology Needed in Maywood, IL

GASTROENTEROLOGIST – LOCUM TENENS

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for an urgent locum tenens opportunity. The ideal candidate must be experienced in performing a variety of GI procedures and providing hospital-based patient care.

SCHEDULE

✓ Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
✓ Weeknight call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
✓ 24-hour weekend call
✓ Full-time coverage; multiple providers may be considered
✓ Start: As soon as credentialed
✓ Estimated credentialing timeframe: 3 months

CLINICAL DETAILS

✓ EMR: Epic
✓ Approximately 12–15 procedures per day
✓ Approximately 12 hospital-based patients per day
✓ Approximately 15 patients per day
✓ Collaborative practice with an established GI physician group
✓ Opportunity to perform procedures in hospital-based GI laboratories

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

✓ EGD
✓ Small bowel biopsy
✓ Lower GI endoscopy
✓ Sigmoidoscopy
✓ Colonoscopy
✓ Capsule deployment
✓ Esophageal dilation

REQUIREMENTS

✓ Board certification in Gastroenterology required.
✓ Active Illinois medical license required at the time of presentation — no exceptions.
✓ Active DEA registration required.
✓ Current controlled substance registration (CSR/CDS) required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

✓ Full-time locum coverage required.
✓ Candidates must be available for the scheduled shifts and call responsibilities.
✓ Credentialing and application fees are not reimbursed.
