Gastroenterology – Weekend Call Coverage

Start Date: July 1, 2026
Schedule: 1–2 weekends per month
Assignment Length: 6-month block (option to extend)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for weekend inpatient call coverage beginning July 1, 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider seeking consistent weekend work with a predictable schedule and strong support.

Schedule Details

Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM (flexible scheduling)

1–2 weekends per month

Saturday & Sunday: approximately 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM in-house

Inpatient endoscopic procedures performed 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday

Additional procedures only for true emergencies at physician discretion

Clinical Responsibilities

6–10 new consults per day

3–5 inpatient follow-ups per day

Inpatient endoscopic procedures primarily including:

EGD

Colonoscopy interventions

Call coverage includes inpatient consults and emergency procedures as needed

Support

PA support provided on Saturday to assist with consults while physician performs procedures

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

Active Maryland license (or ability to obtain)

ERCP preferred but not required

EUS not required

• Ongoing for 6 months
• MD License or IMLC Required
• ERCP preferred NOT required EUS not necessary
