This acute care hospital operates approximately 275 beds and provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services. The facility maintains the clinical infrastructure and established protocols necessary to support gastroenterology coverage across inpatient and OR settings. Locum tenens gastroenterology coverage is sought to address ongoing staffing needs beginning in September.

Upstate New York offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of outdoor recreation and cultural attractions throughout the region. Notable destinations include Watkins Glen State Park, The Wild Center in Tupper Lake - which spans 81 acres and features a 54,000-square-foot museum, live animals, and an elevated treetop trail - and Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George, home to over 135 rides and live shows. The region also provides access to agricultural history through sites such as the Stone Mills Agricultural Museum, performing arts venues like the Clayton Opera House, and a variety of activities including hiking, golf, and bowling.

About the clinician's workday

The gastroenterologist will provide inpatient and OR gastroenterology coverage on a 24-hour call basis, with approximately 2 weeks of call coverage per month at this on-site facility in NY. Call coverage is the primary responsibility; however, clinicians who are available to perform outpatient scopes 2-3 days per week and participate in clinic sessions would provide added value to the facility. Clinicians who are open to OR and block time are especially encouraged. Board certification in Gastroenterology is required, along with an active New York license and DEA.
