A leading acute care hospital system is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a focused endoscopy-based locum tenens opportunity. This assignment offers a highly structured weekday schedule with no call responsibilities and a strong emphasis on advanced procedural GI care within a well-supported clinical environment.
Position Highlights
Monday–Friday schedule with no call required
Consistent daytime hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Long-term ongoing locums assignment
Dedicated APP and strong clinical support team
Epic EMR system
Opportunity to work across two established hospital sites within the system
Clinical Responsibilities
Advanced endoscopic procedures including:
ERCP
EUS
Inpatient GI coverage within hospital-based endoscopy service
Adult and geriatric patient population
Procedural-focused GI practice
Practice Environment
Hospital-based endoscopy and GI lab setting
Support from dedicated advanced practice providers
Collaborative inpatient GI service structure
Modern workflows with Epic EMR
Stable weekday procedural schedule with no overnight or weekend call
Ideal Candidate
Board Certified Gastroenterologist
Active North Carolina license required (IMLC accepted; willing to license)
DEA certification required
Strong ERCP and EUS experience required
Prior experience in high-volume endoscopy settings preferred
Epic EMR experience preferred
