Columbus, Ohio | Inpatient Only

A Level II Trauma Center in Columbus, OH is seeking a GI locum tenens physician for inpatient consult coverage. This is a consult-only role with strong hospital support and no outpatient responsibilities.


Opportunity Highlights

Purely inpatient consult service

GI rounds every morning on active consults

24/7 call coverage during scheduled dates

Average 6–8 consults per day

Typical inpatient GI census around 15

Hospital census approximately 250


Case Mix

Bread-and-butter GI cases

GI bleeds, occasional liver disease

No ERCP or EUS required


Practice Environment

GI serves as consulting service only

Sound Physicians is the primary admitting team

Dedicated Intensivist team manages ICU/CCU patients

Surgical and IR backup readily available

Anesthesia provides sedation for all scopes

APP support assists with daily rounding and documentation


Technology

Olympus scopes (approximately 3 years old)

Provation for endoscopy documentation

Epic EMR


Additional Details

Streamlined enterprise transfer process when needed

Transfers primarily go to CCAG or main campus (including transplant evaluations)

Local providers preferred
