Gastroenterologist Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage in Charleston, South Carolina

A busy hospital system in the Charleston, SC area is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This is a high-volume, procedure-heavy opportunity with strong support staff and a consistent schedule.

Assignment Highlights:

Start: Ongoing (multiple dates available beginning April 2026)
Schedule: 13–16 days per month (full-time coverage)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM + night call (offsite, call-in for emergencies)
Setting: Inpatient hospital coverage across two nearby facilities (~8 miles apart)
Orientation: Half-day (approx. 3 hours)

Practice Details:

High-volume service with ~27 patients per day
Mix of procedures, rounding, and consults
Typical day includes morning endoscopy, followed by rounding and consults across both sites
ERCP required (approximately 7–10 per week)
Established team with GI hospitalist support, PAs, RNs, and clinic staff
Mid-level support available Monday–Friday
Collaborative environment with existing GI physician support

Requirements:

Board Certified Gastroenterologist
Active SC license preferred
DEA required for credentialing
