This healthcare facility serves the rural community with comprehensive medical services including a specialized Endoscopy Suite. The facility features a 4-bed department and provides essential gastroenterology services to the region, offering providers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an underserved area.

Opportunity:
Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology

Job Details:
• Perform procedures in the Endoscopy Suite on Mondays, Wednesdays, half of Thursdays, and Fridays
• See patients in the office on Tuesdays and half of Thursdays
• Handle 20-25 patient encounters per shift
• Take night call every night and round on patient consults in the hospital
• Perform upper GI endoscopy including biopsies, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeders
• Conduct injection of varices and PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) procedures
• Perform esophageal dilatation/manometry and small bowel biopsies
• Conduct lower GI endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy with biopsies and polyp excision
• Board certification eligible minimum requirement
• Must be licensed in Virginia only
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
• Overtime calculated after 40 hours (not daily)
• Immediate start date available for ongoing coverage needs

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
