About the facility

This small hospital maintains the clinical infrastructure necessary to support comprehensive gastroenterology services across inpatient, clinic, and OR settings. The facility operates with a structured procedural and clinical schedule and is supported by nursing staff and two APPs to assist with patient care and high procedural volumes. Locum tenens coverage is sought to address gastroenterology staffing needs from September through December.

About the clinician's workday

The gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive inpatient, clinic, and OR gastroenterology coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with daily pager call from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 10 days per month of 24/7 call coverage including one weekend. Procedure sessions are scheduled each morning from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Monday through Friday, with an additional Wednesday afternoon session from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, accommodating approximately 11-15 cases per day and an annual scope volume of approximately 2,200. Clinic sessions are held four afternoons per week, with approximately 8 patients seen per day. The clinician will manage 2-4 new inpatient consults per day with potential follow-up requirements; ERCP experience is considered an asset for this assignment. Board certification in Gastroenterology is required.
