MD/DO Gastroenterologist Needed for Weekend Call Coverage in Virginia

Job description

An acute care hospital in Virginia is seeking a Gastroenterologist for ongoing weekend call coverage beginning September 28, 2026.

The preferred weekend block runs from Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:00 a.m. Coverage consists of 24-hour call each day with approximately six hours on site, typically beginning around 7:00 a.m.

The physician will manage inpatient GI emergencies, rounding, consultations, and procedures as needed. ERCP experience is preferred, but General Gastroenterologists who do not perform ERCP may also be considered as the hospital expands its weekend call panel.

Ongoing PRN need
Multiple physicians may share the schedule
Board certification required
Active Virginia license required at submission
Approximately 90 days needed for credentialing

Physicians with consistent, partial, or intermittent weekend availability are encouraged to discuss what schedule may work.
