Gastroenterologist Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage in Bellingham, Washington

A well-established healthcare system in Bellingham, WA is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a part-time locum tenens assignment. This is a great opportunity to practice in a scenic Pacific Northwest location with a balanced mix of inpatient and outpatient care alongside a collaborative GI team.

Assignment Highlights:

Start: ASAP (approx. 90-day credentialing)
Duration: Through January 2027 (with potential to extend)
Schedule: Shared coverage; flexible scheduling
Setting: Mix of inpatient & outpatient + endoscopy center + clinic
Reason for Need: Coverage gap

Practice Details:

251-bed hospital
Adult patient population (18+)
Work alongside an experienced GI physician
Patient Volume:
Endoscopy center: ~14–16/day
Clinic: ~16/day
Hospital census varies
Includes rounding, admissions, and procedures
Additional coverage at a nearby clinic location

Procedures Required:

Colonoscopy
EGD
Flexible sigmoidoscopy
Dilation
General GI procedures

ERCP is not required, but candidates with ERCP experience are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

Board Certified Gastroenterologist
Active Washington license or IMLC
Must demonstrate recent clinical activity within the past 24 months reflective of requested privileges
