Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Needed – Greater Finger Lakes Region, NY
Start Date: March 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks; potential extension

Schedule

Full-time scheduled clinical hours
Monday–Friday, 8:00a–4:30p
Day shifts only
No call

Practice Details

Psychiatric care facility setting
Collaborative multidisciplinary treatment team environment
Adult patient population
Structured weekday clinical schedule

Clinical Scope

Conduct comprehensive and focused patient health assessments
Obtain medical, developmental, and psychosocial histories
Perform physical examinations and evaluate clinical findings
Order and interpret routine laboratory and diagnostic tests
Assess and monitor patient health status and treatment progress
Develop and support individualized treatment care plans
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses and treatment plans
Make referrals to specialists and community healthcare resources as appropriate
Document all patient encounters and clinical findings in medical records

Requirements

Nurse Practitioner – Adult Health or Family Health
Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license required
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through New York State Education Department required
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary psychiatric care environment
Experience in psychiatric, primary care, or institutional settings preferred

Credentialing

Standard credentialing timeframe applies
Submission must include active license and supporting credentials

Location

Located in the Greater Finger Lakes region of New York, supporting psychiatric patient care services within a structured weekday clinical schedule.
