Job Title: Clinic Nurse – APRN / Registered Nurse (RN) (School-Based)

Client Site: Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS), Florida
Employment Type: Contract / Temporary (School Calendar Based)
Assignment Duration: Minimum 4 weeks, up to 6 months
Bill Rate: $55/hour

Schedule (School Hours)

Monday: 6.5 hours/day

Tuesday–Friday: 7.5 hours/day

No work on non-student days, school holidays, or district closures

Position Overview

ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. (NDGCS) is seeking a qualified Clinic Nurse (APRN/RN) for a school-based assignment within Hillsborough County Public Schools (Florida). This is a clinic-focused role providing daily health services to students during school hours.

This is not hospital nursing—the ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, using strong clinical judgment, and supporting student health needs in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities

Provide daily nursing care to students in the school clinic

Assess, triage, and manage acute illnesses/injuries and chronic health conditions

Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and district protocols

Respond to medical emergencies; provide first aid, CPR, and AED support as needed

Support students with conditions such as asthma, diabetes, seizures, and allergies

Maintain accurate health records, medication logs, and documentation in accordance with district requirements

Coordinate with school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and district health staff

Assist with health screenings and student wellness initiatives when assigned

Ensure compliance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and HCPS health policies

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA/HIPAA guidelines

Required Qualifications

Active Florida APRN or RN license in good standing

Minimum 2 years of pediatric or school-based nursing experience

BSN required for RN classification (district standard)

Current CPR/BLS certification

Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Ability to work a structured schedule aligned to the school calendar

Preferred Qualifications

Prior school clinic, public health, or community health experience

Experience supporting children with chronic or special health needs

Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole) — preferred, not required
