✅ Qualifications:
✔️ Graduate of an accredited RN program (ADN or BSN)
✔️ Active Louisiana RN license and current BLS certification
✔️ Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
✔️ Skilled in pre-operative assessments, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and EMR documentation
✔️ Strong communication, organization, and patient education skills

✅ Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including medical history and medication review
✔️ Identify and communicate potential surgical or anesthesia risks
✔️ Initiate IV access, collect specimens, and administer pre-op medications as ordered
✔️ Verify informed consent, NPO status, and required testing results
✔️ Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions
✔️ Ensure compliance with pre-operative safety protocols and documentation requirements
✔️ Coordinate patient flow between Pre-Op, OR, and PACU teams
✔️ Provide emotional support and help reduce patient anxiety before surgery
