Employment Type: Temporary-to-permanent
Hourly Rate: $60/hour + mileage reimbursement
Overview:
A New York City regulatory healthcare role is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to conduct nursing home surveys, complaint investigations, and compliance monitoring. This position focuses on ensuring long-term care facilities meet federal and state regulations through on-site evaluations and investigative reporting.
Responsibilities:
✔ Conduct nursing home surveys and complaint investigations, including abuse and neglect cases
✔ Evaluate compliance with federal and state long-term care regulations
✔ Draft Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) and related documentation
✔ Review and assess Plans of Correction within required timeframes
✔ Participate in on-site monitoring and facility inspections
✔ Enter data into state and federal reporting systems
✔ Attend hearings and provide testimony when required
✔ Travel to assigned facilities across NYC boroughs
✔ Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
Qualifications:
✔ Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
✔ Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (utilization review, medical review, fraud investigation, or surveillance) OR 3 years of clinical/administrative experience
✔ At least 1 year of survey experience required
✔ Strong analytical, investigative, and documentation skills
✔ Ability to work independently and in team settings
✔ Valid driver’s license required
✔ SMQT certification preferred (or must obtain within 12 months)
