Position Overview
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) specializing in Dementia Unit care for a skilled care facility in Queens, New York.

This contract opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and experienced CNA with demonstrated experience caring for residents with dementia and/or significant cognitive impairment in a nursing home or hospital setting.

Qualifications
✓ Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant training program
✓ Active New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification/license
✓ Minimum 1 year of experience in a nursing home or hospital setting
✓ Demonstrated experience caring for residents with dementia and/or significant cognitive impairment
✓ Basic understanding of patient care protocols and safety standards
✓ Knowledge of dementia-specific care techniques in a skilled care environment
✓ Must be immune to Hepatitis B
✓ Must have a flexible schedule
✓ Must be available to work every other Saturday and Sunday
✓ Schedule and shift assignments may change based on the operational needs of the facility

Key Responsibilities
✓ Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff
✓ Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
✓ Provide care tailored to the needs of residents with dementia and cognitive impairments
✓ Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs, behavior, and overall well-being
✓ Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs during evening shifts
✓ Apply dementia-specific care techniques to reduce agitation and promote engagement
✓ Help maintain a calm, safe, and supportive environment
✓ Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent injury and promote independence
✓ Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
✓ Follow facility policies, regulatory requirements, and infection control protocols
✓ Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff

Schedule
✓ 2 evening shifts during the week
✓ Every other weekend
✓ Weekend availability is required
✓ Flexible scheduling required
✓ Shift assignments may be adjusted according to facility needs
