Position Overview:
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to conduct nursing home surveys and complaint investigations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This role involves travel, investigative work, and documentation to protect resident health and safety in long-term care settings. Ideal for a detail-oriented RN with experience in medical review, surveillance, or clinical administration.

Work Schedule: Full-time position with onsite travel. The state will determine the schedule. Weekend, holiday, and evening shifts are assigned on a rotating basis. Candidates must be flexible and available as needed.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Licensure: NYS Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) required.
Certification: Ability to obtain Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) certification within 12 months of employment required.
Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years in utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring activities, OR
Three (3) years of clinical or administrative experience, OR
Two (2) years of clinical or administrative experience.
Soft & Technical Skills:
Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively interact with providers, physicians, senior medical/administrative personnel, residents, and families.
Strong investigative and analytical skills, including conducting interviews.
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new programs.
Ability to travel to onsite locations.
Availability for rotating weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
Flexible scheduling as determined by the state.
This is a travel position. Premium pay is available for holidays and overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in nursing home surveys, complaint investigations, including abuse and neglect allegations, and surveillance activities to determine compliance with Federal and State regulations.
Prepare written documentation and draft Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) within required time frames using Principles of Documentation.
Assess compliance with Plans of Correction within required time frames.
Complete required data entry in Federal and State reporting databases.
Participate in State monitoring during Immediate Jeopardy situations.
Attend required meetings.
Testify in administrative hearings as needed.
Follow DOH schedules, policies, and procedures.
Travel to onsite locations according to the assigned schedule.
