Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator to join our team in New York City. This temporary-to-permanent role involves conducting nursing home surveys, complaint investigations, and surveillance activities to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Licensure: Active NYS Registered Nurse license required.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years in utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring activities; OR
3 years of clinical or administrative experience; OR
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with 2 years of clinical or administrative experience.
At least 1 year of survey experience required.

Technical Skills: Strong computer skills and ability to learn new programs.

Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills, and investigative and analytical abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Requirements:
SMQT Certification preferred; must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to onsite facilities.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts as needed.
Rotating weekend, holiday, and evening schedules.
This is a travel position.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in nursing home surveys and complaint investigations, including abuse and neglect allegations.
Prepare written documentation and draft Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) within required timeframes using Principles of Documentation.
Assess compliance with Plans of Correction.
Complete required data entry in Federal and State reporting databases.
Participate in State monitoring during Immediate Jeopardy situations.
Attend meetings and testify in administrative hearings as needed.
Follow DOH work schedules, policies, and procedures.
Travel to onsite locations according to the assigned schedule.
